What is CalDAV?

CalDAV is an Internet standard that allows applications like Fantastical to access calendar/scheduling information on a remote server. Many popular services including MobileMe and Google Calendar use CalDAV to synchronize your calendars.

Fantastical includes CalDAV support, which means your events will update even if iCal isn't open.

Setting up CalDAV in iCal

Please refer to iCal's documentation for help setting your CalDAV account.

If you are using an application other than iCal, please refer to that application's documentation for more information on using it with CalDAV.

Adding events

Events you create in a CalDAV calendar with Fantastical will automatically sync to the server, even if iCal isn't open.

Viewing changed events on the server

If iCal isn't open, will Fantastical automatically syncs your events with the server. However, if iCal is open, iCal handles the sync. In this case, iCal's refresh sync setting will determine how often events are synced with the server.

Requesting Keychain Access

Fantastical uses your keychain to access your account and password information for your CalDAV account. If you see a dialog requesting access, please click "Always Allow". Otherwise, you will have to click "Allow" every time this dialog appears to allow Fantastical to have access your account and password information. Your password will remain secure in the keychain.
